Viewing People Assigned to You

Use Assigned to Me to see the people for whom you have been given an ongoing person-level assignment.

Go to:

People > Assigned to Me

This provides an easy way to find the people you have been asked to stay connected with or care for over time.

What an assignment means

A person assignment represents ongoing responsibility for a person, not one particular task.

Depending on how your church uses assignments, someone might be assigned to you because:

  • You are their primary pastoral-care contact.
  • You are helping them get connected after a first visit.
  • Your care team has divided responsibility for church members.
  • You are responsible for an ongoing ministry relationship.
  • Your church-plant team has assigned that person to you for continuing contact.

Your church can determine what an assignment means within its own ministry structure.

Assigned to Me does not show Follow-Up Tasks

It is important to distinguish person assignments from Follow-Up Tasks.

Assigned to Me answers:

Which people am I responsible for over time?

A Follow-Up Task answers:

What specific action do I need to complete?

For example, Sarah might remain assigned to you for several months even though you currently have no outstanding Follow-Up Tasks for her.

Or another staff member could be responsible for Sarah overall while a single Follow-Up Task is temporarily assigned to you.

Find your specific Follow-Up Tasks

To see individual actionable Follow-Up Tasks assigned to you, use the Tasks button along the right side of Connection Card Pro.

That list contains the individual things you have been asked to complete.

You can also use the Person List's Follow-Up information and filters to identify people with outstanding Follow-Up Tasks.

Use assignments and tasks together

A helpful care process might look like this:

  1. A person is assigned to you for ongoing care.
  2. A specific need comes up.
  3. You or another staff member creates a Follow-Up Task.
  4. The task is completed.
  5. The resulting conversation is recorded as an Interaction.
  6. The person remains assigned to you for continued care.

This helps distinguish between caring for a person over time and simply maintaining a checklist of one-time actions.
