Once Follow-Up Tasks have been created, Connection Card Pro gives users several ways to see what needs attention and record what happened when the work is completed.
Use the Tasks button along the right side of Connection Card Pro to open your task list.
The task panel provides quick access to tasks assigned to you.
A task may display information such as:
This makes it easy to keep your actionable follow-up separate from the broader list of people assigned to you for ongoing care.
Follow-Up information can also be displayed on the Person List.
Use the Follow-Up filter to choose:
This is useful when a pastor, ministry leader, or administrator wants to find people whose follow-up has not yet been completed.
The Person List's Follow Up column provides a quick summary of follow-up activity.
Depending on the person's history, it can show information such as:
This can help staff identify people whose follow-up needs attention without opening every profile individually.
An outstanding Follow-Up Task can be edited one of two ways:
1) Click on the Follow-Up button under their name in their profile
2) Click on their Communication tab to find and edit this follow-up task.
Editing allows you to change information such as:
Saving changes keeps the task outstanding.
Editing a task does not mark it complete.
If you change the Assigned To user, the task becomes the responsibility of the newly selected user.
When the action has been carried out, you can mark the Follow-Up Task as complete from the Communication tab of their profile.
The Complete Follow-Up Task window shows the task details and lets you identify who actually completed it.
Choose the person who completed the work.
This can differ from the admin user who is currently entering the completion.
For example, an office administrator could record that Pastor James completed a pastoral visit.
When marking a task complete, you will have an option to select:
Record an interaction after completing this task
This is useful when completing the task resulted in meaningful contact with the person.
This will link the new Interaction with that task assignment.
Task: Call to see how John is recovering.
Interaction: Reached John by phone. He is home and recovering well.
This creates both an actionable follow-up record and a useful history of what actually happened.
An outstanding task can also be cancelled or removed when it is no longer needed.
Go to the Communication Tab in person's profile to cancel or remove a task.
A cancelled task is different from a completed task. It indicates that the requested action was not completed as a normal task and is no longer outstanding.
Once a Follow-Up Task has been completed, it cannot currently be changed back to outstanding.
If another action is required later, create a new Follow-Up Task.
When a Follow-Up Task originated from a Note or Interaction, Connection Card Pro keeps that relationship.
This makes it possible to understand why the task was created and what happened afterward.
For example, a Note may indicate when its linked Follow-Up Task has been completed.
The Tasks panel shows individual actions that need to be completed.
People > Assigned to Me serves a different purpose. It shows people for whom you have an ongoing person-level assignment.
A person may therefore:
