Many Connection Card Pro Lists let you work with more than one record at a time.
You can select individual records, select an entire set of filtered results, use bulk actions on that selection, or export List information for use outside Connection Card Pro.
The exact actions available depend on the type of List and your permissions, but the way you select and work with records is consistent throughout the List interface.
On Lists that support selection, click a row to select it.
Selected rows are highlighted and the bulk action area displays the number of rows currently selected.
Click a selected row again to remove it from your selection.
Buttons, links and menus inside a row can still be clicked normally without selecting the row.
Some Lists contain special rows that cannot be selected. For example, a List might show informational or child rows that aren't intended to have bulk actions performed on them.
On a desktop, you can quickly select a consecutive range:
Connection Card Pro will select the selectable rows between the first and second records as well.
This is useful when you need a group of neighboring records but don't need every result in the List.
Click Select all results to select all selectable records in your current results.
This means the selection follows your current Search and Filters. If your filters have narrowed a List of 1,000 records to 83 results, Select all results selects those 83 matching records — even if only 25 are displayed on the current page.
This makes Filters especially useful before performing a bulk action.
Click Select none to clear the entire selection.
It's a good idea to clear an old selection before beginning a different task, especially if you've changed your Search or Filters in between.
Once one or more records are selected, the actions available for that List become enabled.
Depending on what you're viewing, bulk actions might let you:
Not every action is available on every List. Your permissions can also affect which actions are shown or which selected records you're allowed to update.
For the specific actions available in an area, see the help guide for that module's List.
There are two common ways to act on records:
If you're working with only one item, the row's action menu may be quickest. If you're making the same change to several records, select them first and use the bulk tools.
On Lists that support exporting, open Data and choose Export current results.
Current results means the records that match the List you're currently looking at after Search and Filters have been applied.
The export is not limited to the page currently visible on your screen. If your current List contains matching results across several pages, those matching results are included.
This is useful when you want to build an export by first narrowing the List to exactly what you need.
For example:
Choose Export all loaded... when you want all records currently loaded into that List rather than only the records matching your current Search and Filters.
This is useful when you've filtered the List for your on-screen work but need a broader export without clearing your current setup first.
The exact wording of this option reflects the type of List you're viewing, such as Export all loaded people, Export all loaded events or another applicable record type.
On many Lists, your visible columns help determine which fields are included in the export.
This lets you use Columns to create a focused export containing only the information you need.
Some modules provide additional export choices. For example, a particular List may let you choose between visible columns and a larger set of available fields.
Module-specific export options are covered in the help guide for that List.
If you need to reload the latest information from Connection Card Pro, choose:
Data > Refresh from server
On smaller screens, you'll find Refresh from server under More.
Refreshing is useful if records may have been changed elsewhere while you've had the List open.
After refreshing, review your selection again before running a bulk action.
Pagination only controls how many matching records you see on the screen at one time.
At the bottom of the List you can:
Search, Filters and Select all results work with the overall current result set, not just the page currently displayed.
Before making a change to many records at once:
Taking a moment to confirm the current results and selection is especially helpful when working with large Lists.
