Lists are used throughout Connection Card Pro to help you view, find, organize and work with information such as people, groups, events, forms, resources and more.
Although each area has its own information and tools, the basic List interface works the same way. Once you know how to use one List, you'll already know how to search, filter, sort, customize and navigate most other Lists in Connection Card Pro.
This guide provides an introduction to the List interface. Other guides in this series cover filtering, Saved Views, columns, bulk actions and exporting in more detail.
A typical List contains several areas:
Not every List includes every option. Available tools depend on the type of List, your permissions and the features available to your organization.
In the above screenshot, from top down you see:
The Search field is the fastest way to find something when you already know what you're looking for.
Begin typing in the Search field and the List will automatically narrow to matching results. Clear the Search field to return to the full current view.
What can be searched depends on the List. For example, a List may search names as well as other useful information associated with each record.
Use Filters when you want to narrow a List based on specific criteria rather than a general text search.
Depending on the List, filters might include things such as status, category, tags, groups, dates or other information specific to that type of record.
Once filters are applied, they appear underneath the toolbar as Active filters. This makes it easy to see why certain records are or aren't currently being shown.
You can remove filters individually or clear all active filters at once.
See Searching, Filtering, Sorting & Grouping Lists for a complete walkthrough.
On desktop, sortable columns have a sort control in the column heading. Click a heading to sort by that column. Click it again to reverse the direction.
Some Lists can also be Grouped. Grouping visually organizes related records together while still allowing you to search, filter and sort the List.
Grouping isn't available or useful for every type of List, so the Grouped option may be unavailable in some areas.
Select Columns to customize the information displayed in the List.
You can:
This can be especially helpful on Lists with a large number of optional fields. Instead of displaying everything, you can keep the List focused on the information you use most often.
See Customizing Lists with Columns & Saved Views for more information.
A Saved View lets you return to a useful List setup without rebuilding it every time.
Saved Views can remember things such as:
Some Lists also include Preset Views created by Connection Card Pro for common ways of viewing that information.
See Customizing Lists with Columns & Saved Views to learn how to create, share and manage views.
The way you open or manage an individual record depends on the List.
Names and other information may be linked directly to the record, and many Lists also include a three-dot (...) menu at the end of each row for additional actions.
These actions are specific to what you're viewing. For example, a Person, Group and Event will each have different tools available.
Your permissions can also determine which actions you see.
Lists that support bulk actions allow you to select multiple records and then perform an action on the selection.
Click a selectable row to select it. Click it again to remove it from your selection. The bulk action area shows how many rows are currently selected.
You can also use:
The actions available after selecting records depend on the List and your permissions.
At the bottom of the List, you'll see how many results are currently available and which portion of those results is being displayed.
Use the page controls to move forward or backward through the results, or select a different per page option to display more or fewer records at once.
Search and filters affect the number of results, but changing pages does not change which records match your current search or filters.
Lists automatically adjust for smaller screens where supported.
Instead of trying to squeeze a large desktop table onto a phone, information is presented in a more mobile-friendly layout. Some desktop controls are also reorganized:
The exact information and shortcuts shown on mobile can vary depending on the type of List.
