Connection Card Pro Lists can be customized so you see the information that's most useful to you.
Columns control what information appears in the List and where it appears. Saved Views remember a complete way of viewing a List, including search, filters, sorting, grouping and page size — and can optionally remember the column layout too.
These tools make it easy to create focused views for different jobs without changing the underlying records or affecting how another admin prefers to work.
Different Lists may have many more fields available than you'll want to see at one time.
To customize your columns:
If a List has many available columns, use Search available columns... to quickly find the field you want.
Columns in the Selected columns section can be dragged into a different order.
Move the fields you use most often toward the beginning of the List and place less important information farther to the right.
On supported desktop Lists, you may also be able to drag column headings directly in the List to change their order.
If you want your new column layout to become your normal layout for that List, select Save as Default before clicking Apply columns.
Your default columns:
If you only click Apply columns without saving them as your default, you can still use the layout while you're working with the current List.
A Saved View remembers a useful way of looking at a List so you can return to it later with one click.
A Saved View can remember:
Your current selection of records and the page you happen to be viewing are not part of a Saved View.
First, arrange the List the way you want it:
When saving, you'll see options for:
Include current column layout is useful when the columns themselves are part of the purpose of the view.
For example, you might create one Saved View for reviewing contact information and another for reviewing attendance-related information. Each could show a different set of columns.
If you do not include the column layout, opening the Saved View will use your normal default columns for that List instead.
This lets you save useful filters and sorting without forcing a special column arrangement every time you open that view.
Click Saved views near the top of the List to switch views.
You may see two kinds of views:
Selecting a view immediately applies the settings stored with that view.
If there's a view you use most often, you can make it your default view.
Your default determines how that particular List normally opens for you. It is a personal preference and does not change the default for other admins.
You can choose a default when creating or editing one of your Saved Views. Depending on the List, a Preset View may also be available as your personal default.
Select Share this view with all admins if the view would be useful to other administrators in your organization.
Shared Views are especially useful for common tasks where several people should be able to open the same filtered or organized List.
The admin who created the Saved View remains its owner. Other admins can use a shared view, but they cannot change the original view.
If another admin wants a variation of a shared view, they can use it as a starting point and Save as new view.
After opening a Saved View, you can continue changing the Search, Filters, sorting, grouping, page size or included columns.
If you own that Saved View, you can save those changes back to the existing view.
You can also choose Save as new view when you want to keep the original and create another version.
Only the owner can edit or delete the original Saved View.
Deleting a Saved View only removes the saved way of viewing the List. It does not delete any people, groups, events or other records.
These two settings are related, but they do different jobs:
| Default Columns | Columns Included in a Saved View | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Your normal column layout for that List. | A special column layout tied to one particular Saved View. |
| How to Save | Choose Save as Default in Columns. | Choose Include current column layout when saving the view. |
| When Used | Whenever the List isn't using a Saved View with its own included columns. | Whenever that specific Saved View is applied. |
| Affects Other Admins? | No. | No. A shared view can be used by others, but each admin still controls their own defaults. |
Example: You normally keep Name, Contact and Status visible and save those as your default columns. You then create a Saved View called "Volunteer Follow-Up" and include a different column layout specifically for that task. Opening Volunteer Follow-Up uses its special columns; switching away from it returns you to your normal List column setup.
