Managing the Site Menu (Website Navigation)

Control the navigation bar that appears at the top of every page on your Connection Card Pro website.

Menu path: Web & App Website (Choose your site) Pages & Settings Edit Page Menu tab
Changes in the Menu tab apply to the entire site, not just the page you’re editing.

1) Open the Site Menu

  1. Go to Web & App > Website.
  2. Click Pages & Settings for the site you want to edit.
  3. Click the Edit (pencil) icon on any page to open the builder.
  4. Click the Menu tab (top-right).

You’ll see header options (logo & site name), a list of Menu Items, and a + New Item button.

2) Header Options: Logo & Site Name

  • Include Full Logo – show main horizontal logo.
  • Include Square Logo – show compact/square logo.
  • Include Site Name – display your site title as text.

Common choices: Square Logo + Site Name or Full Logo only. Changes preview instantly.

3) Understanding Menu Items

  • Drag handle – drag to reorder.
  • Label – what visitors see (e.g., About, Ministries).
  • TypeLink (goes to a URL) or Menu (dropdown heading with sub-links).
  • ActionsOpen (view destination), Edit, Delete. For Menu types you’ll also see + to add sub-links.

4) Add a New Menu Item

Click + New Item and choose Link or Menu.

4.1 Add a Link
  1. + New Item > Link.
  2. Set Label (e.g., About, Plan a Visit).
  3. Choose Destination:
    • Existing Page (Home, About, Give, etc.)
    • New Page (create & link a page)
    • External URL (YouTube, podcast, parent site)
  4. Click Save changes, then drag to position.
4.2 Add a Menu (Dropdown)
  1. + New Item > Menu, set a Label (e.g., Ministries, Next Steps), then Save changes.
  2. In the list, find your new Menu and click + (add Link to this Menu).
  3. Add links under this dropdown as needed.

5) Reorder & Organize Items

  • Use the handle to drag items; higher items appear farther left.
  • Keep high-value links (e.g., Plan a Visit, Give) near the beginning.
If the header feels crowded, group related links under one dropdown (e.g., Ministries or Get Involved) and move rarely-used links to the footer or keep them unlinked/hidden.

6) Edit or Remove Items

  • Edit () to change label/destination.
  • Delete () removes the menu item only (does not delete the page).

You can re-add a link any time and point it to the same page.

7) Practical Examples

Example 1: Simple 5-Item Church Menu
  1. Home
  2. About — story, beliefs, staff
  3. Ministries (Menu)
    • Kids
    • Youth
    • Groups
  4. Plan a Visit — points to a page with service times, parking, FAQ
  5. Give — direct link to giving page/widget
Example 2: External Live Stream
  1. + New Item > Link
  2. Label: Live Stream
  3. Destination: External URL (paste YouTube/Facebook link)
  4. Save, then drag near the front of the menu

Quick Tips

  • Keep it short: Aim for 4–7 top-level items.
  • Be clear: “Plan Your Visit” & “Give” should be easy to find.
  • Use dropdowns wisely: Group related items under one heading.
  • Hide one-off pages: Don’t add special registrations to the main menu—share direct links instead.
