🧭 Understanding the Interface: How to Navigate Connection Card Pro

A Guide to Consistent Navigation, Tools, and Layouts Across the Platform

Connection Card Pro is designed to be powerful yet approachable. While different modules offer different tools, many layout principles remain consistent across the system. Once you know how to navigate one area, you’ll feel at home in the rest.

This guide outlines the interface patterns that help you quickly find what you need, wherever you are.

Modular Menu Structure (Left Navigation)

Connection Card Pro is divided into modules, each with its own left-hand menu item:

  • Core Modules: People, Groups, Events, Forms, Services, Reports, Communications, Accounting
  • Specialized Modules (when enabled): Payroll & HR, Web & App, Kiosk, Rooms & Resources, Memberships
  • Account Menu: User management, billing, subscription, and audit logs

Each module’s menu generally follows this structure:

Menu Item Purpose
View [Items]Always the first item (e.g. View People, View Events)
New [Item]Second item (e.g. New Person, New Event)
ToolsOther tools relevant to the module
SettingsAlways last; includes setup, imports, tag management, etc.
Custom Lists(People only) appear below if marked “Include in Menu”
Other Links(Events/Forms) automatically link to Registrations/Submissions

Global Navigation (Top Right)

At the top-right of every admin page, you’ll find three helpful icons (from right to left):

Icon Functionality
👤 User Menu Click your profile photo to access user settings, Personal Hub, account settings, billing, or logout
âť“ Help Button Access help docs, tutorials, contact support, and search the Help Center
đź”” Notifications View recent alerts or updates tied to your account

🔍 Quick Search (Top Center)

Use the Quick Search bar at the top of every page to jump directly to:

  • People (by name, phone, email)
  • Groups, Events, Forms
  • Pages or features (e.g., “check-in”, “kiosk”, “branding”)

Powered by fuzzy matching, this tool offers real-time suggestions as you type. Just start typing what you're looking for and choose an option.

Consistent Page Layouts

Most modules and tools use list-based pages (tables) with the following patterns:

Action Buttons (per item row)

Button Position Notes

EditAlways 2nd from rightOpens the edit form
RemoveAlways far rightTriggers a confirmation popup before deleting
Dropdown MenuTo left of Edit/Remove (when present)Additional actions depending on context

Shortcuts & Custom Buttons

At the top of the left-hand menu, you’ll find customizable shortcut buttons for fast access to frequently used pages. Click the ✏️ icon to edit your shortcuts.

👥 Role-Based Visibility

What each user sees depends on:

  • Their Admin Role settings (Account > Admin Users > Admin User Roles)
  • The organization’s current subscription plan
Not all users will have access to all modules or pages — if something seems missing, check with a full admin.

📱 Mobile & Small Screens

  • The web interface is responsive, but works best on desktop or laptop.
  • On mobile, some menu items may be collapsed or rearranged for usability.
  • The Connection Card Pro mobile app has its own layout, optimized for leaders, volunteers, and core admin tasks.

âś… Summary: What to Expect Everywhere

  • Each module starts with View, then New, then relevant tools and ends with Settings
  • Buttons and layout follow consistent placement across modules
  • Most actions are one or two clicks away via Quick Search, shortcuts, or module menus
  • Deleting always requires confirmation
  • Help and support are just one click away
